Self-proclaimed Human Rights Activist and Film Producer, Thor Halvorssen, is portraying himself as a real American Hero.

Founder of the Human Rights Foundation (HRF) and President of the New York chapter, the 39-year-old Human Rights activist came from a family riddled with human injustices. His Father, European, was imprisoned for shedding light on government corruption. His Mother, Venezuelan, was shot during a peaceful protest. Thor wrote the article about his mother’s shooting; it was published in the Wall Street Journal. Read more: Thor Halvorssen | Facebook

Today, Thor Halvorssen is wielding his hammer against all dictators and tyrants, whoever they may be; wherever they may lurk; those whom oppress the weak and quieted voices. Thor doesn’t just speak out against those oppressors; he also gets his hands dirty. It was reported that, while in Southeast Asia, he was severely beaten by the local police, while meeting with an imprisoned monk.

Thor Halvorssen, an impassioned demonstrator, speaks for those who cannot, and clearly feels their pain. But, it’s the leaders, the tyrants, the dictators, the heads of state; all those whom impose statutes that curtail freedom and human liberties; those are the targets that he aims to knock down.

As a Film Producer, Thor, again, uses his passion for human rights by making films that spotlight human injustices. Take, for example, his recent work,The Moon is a Harsh Mistress:a sci-fi film where a colony escapes to the moon to rid themselves of Earth’s rule. His film touches on several libertarian ideologies.

Thor Halvorssen also founded – and he is the current CEO – the Oslo Freedom Forum. This annual gathering showcases speakers, performers, tech labs, and workshops. In their “labs”, they attempt to educate activists on how to best leverage social media. In the workshops, cutting-edge strategies, to alleviate human injustices, are developed through group brainstorming. Learn more about Thor Halvorssen:
