Kevin Seawright Continues To Help Inner Cities

Businessman and community leader Kevin Seawright has worked hard to develop communities all along the East Coast. His 15 years of financial expertise and unique blend of vision and leadership has consistently delivered positive results.

According to Crunchbase, Kevin Seawright has a broad range of expertise in finance, business management, payroll and accounting. While working for the city of Baltimore, Seawright served as CFO for several state and federal agencies including the Department of Human Services and developed an accounting system that saved the city over $100,000. His business acumen in both the private and governmental sector has helped him establish a reputation as a highly-reputable leader.

In May, Kevin Seawright was named CFO of Newark’s Community Economic Development Corporation (CADC). The mission of the CADC is to attract and grow minority businesses and develop real estate throughout the city’s 28 diverse neighborhoods.

Seawright says he is proud to bring his expertise to the city of Newark. The CADCs collaboration with the city’s Department of Housing and Development will create a better future for citizens of Newark. “We need to build and retain minority businesses in the city. This will do a lot to make underserved areas of the city viable.”

Seawright has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Metlife Bridges to the Future. He recently completed the executive leadership training at the University of Notre Dame Mendoza School of Business. Seawright sits on the Babe Ruth Museum’s advisory board, and he is also a member of the Society of Black Accountants.
