Desiree Perez Leads Jay Z to Success

The end of Jay Z’s 10 year $150 million deal with Live Nation is drawing nearer every day. This deal was originally made in 2008 and now that the deal is closing up, either side is able to sell their stake in Roc Nation. They could also just buy the company outright. Live Nation has publicly said they wish to continue the touring deal with Jay Z but are not longer going to be a recording music deal with him. Roc Nation currently has many top artists including Jay Z, Rihanna, Meek Mill, Fat Joe, and Shakira. Jay Z is represented by an experienced executive from Roc Nation named Desiree Perez. They have worked together for a long time. Together, they met with the chairman and CEO of Universal Music, Sir Lucian Grainge. Some people have spectated that this might hint that Universal Music has an interest in buying a stake of Roc Nation.  Check igstars.com

Universal Music revealed that they already have a distribution deal with Roc Nation and if they were to take a larger stake in the company, they will greatly increase their stake in Roc Nation artists. Universal Music mentioned they would love to work more with Jay Z but have not had official discussions with him about the fact that his deal with Live Nation is coming to a close.
